Seriously- I swear this year is just flying by! It's already April!!!
I'm linking up with Farley for her monthly Currently :)
Listening: The Voice. I haven't been keeping up much. It pretty much serves as background noise :P
Loving: That I get to head into town for a happy hour. Well..first I have a dentist appointment (which I'm not loving) but after I'm meeting a fellow teacher friend from Washington. Her class and I were pen pals last year!! :)
Thinking: I need to be lesson planning for tomorrow instead of doing this (and eating a slice of strawberry shortcake!)
Wanting: To hit up the beach! I don't even remember the last time I've been in the ocean…which is really sad since I live on an island :/ lol I am so white it's kinda scary!
Needing: To get some rest!! I've been having a difficult sleeping at night bc I have so many things running through my mind.
Yep-that's me!
I wake up at 4am every day since I head to work early. I have to leave my house BY 5:05 or else I will be caught in some traffic. I'd rather avoid all the traffic and go early because while sitting in traffic I just think of all the time I'm wasting :/ I haven't been getting much rest and have been getting really bad headaches lately! I hope to be in bed by 9PM tonight!
Hours: ohhh yeah. You read that right. I actually arrive to work anywhere between 5:15-5:45. I like going in early because I am much more productive. For me, at the ending of the day I'm so exhausted that I don't get anything done. Plus I feel like there are a ton of distractions and I always get caught talking to people :P I usually leave work anywhere from 2:15-2:30.
Students finish school on May 29 but for the first time in a few years…teachers actually have an extra day to get their rooms packed up and cleaned :) Can't wait till May 30!!!
Head on over to Farley's blog and link up!!
Have a great week! :)

I was always the first person at school in the morning. I too would get distracted as soon as people started coming in the building, so I was always much more productive when I was the only one there! I live near the beach too (in California, though). What island do you live on?

Teaching Momster
Hi Krista,
DeleteI live on Oahu :) I was actually born and raised on Maui though. Totally know what you mean about getting distracted. Boy can teachers talk :P
Courtney
Last year, as a classroom teacher, I was always at school earlier than most. This year, still early, but not like last year.
ReplyDeleteI'm much more productive in the morning than by the end of the day!
Enjoy happy hour!
Fabulous Fifth Grade Fun
Oh my, I am so jealous of where you live. We spent our spring break over in Maui and I love the beach so much. Even though I am a California girl, I am still four hours from the beach! Good luck on lesson planning.

Fantastic first Grade Froggies
Hi Renee!
DeleteSo cool! I bet you loved your break!! I'm actually originally from Maui. It's so beautiful there :)

How far is your commute? I am currently student teaching and considering a job for next year that would involve me following a similar schedule.
ReplyDeleteRachel
My commute it about 30 minutes with NO traffic. With traffic it can take anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half. Bad traffic could be 2+ hours :( Honestly, going in early is great- if you don't mind waking up! ;)
DeleteYou live in Hawaii right?? Me too. :) I hate the traffic here.... does it take you a long time to get home?
DeleteHi Rachel!
DeleteYes-I live on Oahu! That's so awesome that you live here too :) Where do you teach? I teach in Salt Lake/Moanalua and live in Kapolei. I usually leave school by 3:00 so I get home anywhere from 30 min- 45 minutes.
Courtney
I live in Makiki- by Punahou. I'm currently student teaching at a school by Diamond Head, but I am considering a position for next school year out in Waianae....
